Micheal Sean Bolton: A Passion

A Passion Micheal Sean Bolton received an M.F.A. in poetry in 1993 and a Ph.D. in American literature in 2009, both from Arizona State University. He currently works as a Faculty Associate in ASU’s Department of English. He has previously published poetry in journals such as Prism International, Sage of Consciousness, and Thought Crime. A Passion is drawn from his book of poems, God Junkies, which was awarded an honorable mention in the 2008 Coatlism Press Book Length Contest.

His most recent chapbook is Georgic, with Eclogues for Interrogators from Lamination Colony. Gold Wake Press published a chapbook of his titled 10 specimens last August.

He has authored 22 collections of poetry, including “Altered Aesthetics” (ungovernable press, 2009), and “Construed Implications” (erbacce-press, 2009). His poems have appeared at Calliope Nerve, Full of Crow, BlazeVOX, Metazen, Heavy Bear, and elsewhere. He edits & publishes Counterexample Poetics, an online journal of experimental artistry, and Differentia Press, dedicated to publishing e-chapbooks of experimental poetry. How This Man Breaks Zachary C. Bush, 26, is a poet and part-time English instructor at the City College of New York, where he’s in the final stages of earning an MFA in Creative Writing. His writing has appeared in many print and electronic small press publications. He is the author of two books: Angles of Disorder (BlazeVOX books, 2009), At Swan Decapitation (VOX PRESS, 2010), as well as nine chapbooks of poetry. These short poems were written by cutting and pasting words from her journals with scissors and glue. “Carapace Debris” came from photos of nebulae and their ‘star nurseries’ in the Hubble gallery. Water on the Window Jeffrey Kahrs was born in the Hague, Netherlands and was raised in California not far from San Francisco. He received a B.A. in Dramatic Literature from U.C. Santa Cruz and an M.A. from Boston University, where he studied with Derek Walcott and Leslie Epstein. In 1988 he helped found a reading series in Seattle called Radio Free Leroy’s, which ran for six years. He worked as a union laborer, longshoreman, cannery worker, and for many years as a commercial fisherman in Alaska. Since 1993 he has lived in Istanbul where he has worked primarily as a teacher.
