Devotional Understanding Felino A. Soriano (b. 1974, California), is a case manager and advocate for developmentally and physically disabled adults. He has authored 22 collections of poetry, including “Altered Aesthetics” (ungovernable press, 2009), and “Construed Implications” (erbacce-press, 2009). His poems have appeared at Calliope Nerve, Full of Crow, BlazeVOX, Metazen, Heavy Bear, and elsewhere. He edits & publishes Counterexample Poetics, an online journal of experimental artistry, and Differentia Press, dedicated to publishing e-chapbooks of experimental poetry. He is also a contributing editor for Sugar Mule, and consulting editor for Post: A Journal of Thought and Feeling. How This Man Breaks Zachary C. Bush, 26, is a poet and part-time English instructor at the City College of New York, where he’s in the final stages of earning an MFA in Creative Writing. His writing has appeared in many print and electronic small press publications. He is the author of two books: Angles of Disorder (BlazeVOX books, 2009), At Swan Decapitation (VOX PRESS, 2010), as well as nine chapbooks of poetry. How This Man Breaks is his second e-chap with Gold Wake Press. His tenth chap is forthcoming through Kendra Steiner Editions in early 2010. These short poems were written by cutting and pasting words from her journals with scissors and glue. “Carapace Debris” came from photos of nebulae and their ‘star nurseries’ in the Hubble gallery. Water on the Window Jeffrey Kahrs was born in the Hague, Netherlands and was raised in California not far from San Francisco. He received a B.A. in Dramatic Literature from U.C. Santa Cruz and an M.A. from Boston University, where he studied with Derek Walcott and Leslie Epstein. In 1988 he helped found a reading series in Seattle called Radio Free Leroy’s, which ran for six years. He worked as a union laborer, longshoreman, cannery worker, and for many years as a commercial fisherman in Alaska. Since 1993 he has lived in Istanbul where he has worked primarily as a teacher.
